What Are The Characteristics of Sintered NdFeB Magnets Plating Process?

The plating process of Sintered Nd-Fe-B magnets can be divided into the following three phases substantially:

1. Before plating treatment
Before plating, magnet must go through four type surface treatments: degreasing, cleaning, etching (activation), cleaning again to keep the surface oil free, scale free and no rust. The condition of magnet surface before plating is directly impact on coating quality.

2. Plating treatment
After surface pretreatment, coating quality of magnet is depends on factors bath formulation and operating conditions while plating. Therefore, it must be strictly observed process specification, control the bath composition, the additive ratio, working temperature, current density during plating operation, and in accordance with the requirements of coating thickness and deposition rate, control electroplating time well.

3. After plating treatment
Treatment after plating process is also an important step. For example, the plating magnet generally need to be neutralized and cleaned, and sometimes also need glossing process (bright dipping), passivation, or other organic coating treatment to meet the special requirements of the product.
