Guitar Pickup Magnets

Pickup is the heart of electric guitar. There are two types of magnet material which used on pickup. One is alnico (AlNiCo2 and AlNiCo5), the other one is ceramic (Ceramic 8). Ceramic produce high frequency, but it sounds brittle. The sound from alnico pickup is warm, but price is higher than ceramic. Many pickup manufacturers test pickups with different magnet and try to find best sound and classical sound by vintage pickup.
